📖 Verse of the Day
“But Godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.” — I Timothy 6:6-9 KJV
📚 Lesson of the Day
The word “enough” is one of the hardest words in the modern spiritual vocabulary. Everything in the way we live is designed to make it feel just out of reach. One more purchase. One more upgrade. One more milestone. Paul writes to Timothy that “godliness with contentment is great gain.” Notice the pairing. Not godliness alone. Not contentment alone. The two together, because either one without the other collapses. Contentment without God becomes anxious performance. He does not say “if we have a comfortable home, three vacations a year, and a fulfilling career, we will be content with that.” He says food and clothing. The life you are currently calling insufficient is, by the standard Paul is using, already an inheritance.
💭 Encouragement of the Day
No matter where you are in life, if you have food and clothing, you have an inheritance from the Lord. Ask God to help you be content with the life and the resources that He has given you. He always gives us more than enough for ourselves and some extra to share and bless others.
🙏 Prayer of the Day
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for all that You have given me. Forgive me for wanting more and more. Help me to be content in You and in what You have provided for me. Help me to see that a life with You is already a fulfilling life as long as You are in it. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
