Verse of the Day
“Wear the full armor of God. Wear God’s armor so that you can fight against the devil’s clever tricks.”
Ephesians 6 : 11 ERV
Lesson of the Day
Remember I said that we will discuss the armor of God? Today is the day. This subject can take several weeks, so let’s get started. As we discussed yesterday, we will have troublesome times. Everyone goes through it whether they are saved or not. Matthew 5 : 45 KJV says, “For He maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.” This tells us that good and bad happen to everyone. The only difference is we have Jesus to help get us through the tough times. John 16:33 states, “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” This verse assures us that we will get through it and Jesus will be there for us. When Jesus walked the earth as a man, the devil tried to trick Him, but He had on His full armor every day, so He overcame the devil and didn’t fall for his tricks. We have that same armor, but we must put it on daily. Otherwise, we will fall for the devil’s schemes. The devil comes to kill, steal, and destroy. You’ll find that in John 10:10. Our full armor will help us survive the devil’s attacks. He goes around seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8. The devil hates God and anyone on God’s side. We will talk about each part of the armor starting tomorrow. For now, just know that we have protection.
Encouragement
It’s a great feeling just knowing that we have protection and that Jesus is on our side. He overcame the devil and we will too. Don’t worry about troubles. They will come for us all. We must focus on protecting ourselves so that we can be prepared for anything that the devil throws at us.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, You are all powerful. No one is more powerful than You. You are a fair and just God. You promise that we will go through some troubles but You also assure us that we will have Your help. Thank You for supplying an armor of protection for us. All we have to do is wear it daily. Remind us each day to put on our full armor. Give us the strength and courage to get through any trial or tribulation that comes our way. You are our savior and we are so blessed to have You. In Jesus Christ’s name, we pray. Amen.
